Artist Statement:
My work explores home, memory, and how space becomes place. I am interested in landscapes – specifically of the Midwest, where I am from, and how physical environment impacts one’s feelings of security, comfort, and belonging.
This ring is made from one of my enameled houses set in sterling. I felt the sentiment of home was particularly timely in our quarantined world. I have been thinking more of interior spaces and the impact that our built and curated environments have on us, especially now as they have become spaces we are spending more time in.
