1″tall, 9/16″ tapered band
Artist Statement:
My concept for the Waterdrop ring incorporates a gradually widening band, that echoes and elongates the shape of the stone, ending in its cantilever. As reflected in this piece, my focus as an artist is on visual flow, three-dimensional form and structure, and function. While the greater body of my work is generally fabricated in steel, I often return to silver when I am making a ring. I was inspired by this deep-blue shimmery labradorite, which gave me the opportunity to do some stone-setting as well. My background is in industrial design from Rhode Island School of Design. I am a jewelry artist in Chicago (currently recovering from hand surgery!).
