Artist Statement:
Lindsay Locatelli is a contemporary jewelry artist who works mostly in polymer clay. Her process involves carving the clay once it has been hardened and applying various texturizing techniques as well as the application of acrylic paints and gold leafing.
This is a carved and reinforced polymer clay ring with a naturally blue cavansite crystal. The reinforcement of the clay includes a chipboard structure, doused in glues for setting the shape and buried inside the clay making it a very strong ring.
