Artist Statetment:
Since a child I have been surrounded by art. My mother was a painter and owned a couple art galleries. This sparked my interest and fueled my passion to be an artist. I am currently a full time working jeweler and painter living in North Bend, Wa. I have a retail working studio in North Bend where I can continue to work on my art and sell to my customers, new customers and tourists.
This ring was carved out of wax and cast in brass. The inspiration came to me from a summer I spent in Ballard wa. Combing the beach each morning at low tide. The amount of life and beauty low tide exposes is fascinating!
This challenge inspired me as well. I was able to pick up where I left off a few years ago and set the facetted stones in the cast portion and then prong set a beautiful green chalcedony in the center.
