Brooch Brunch in the Gallery

Brooch Brunch

In honor of Mother’s Day Danaca Design will be hosting a month-long show of brooches with a Brooch Brunch as our opening reception! Danaca Design members and gallery artists, Seattle Metals Guild members, and other friends of the gallery were invited to create up to 3 brooches for the show. We are excited to have a month-long show to celebrate our mothers and this unconventional form of jewelry with limitless possibilities!

Join us for the opening celebration Saturday, May 12, 12 – 3pm featuring champagne, snacks and a gallery full of brooches made by local and national metalsmiths. Bring your mom (or anyone else!) to sip some champagne and browse our brooches, say that 5 times fast!

Dana Cassara began practicing the art of silversmithing at North Seattle Community College in 1992. She discovered her love for the craft after returning to school to pursue a teaching degree with a focus in social studies. She graduated from the University of Washington in 1998 with a B.A. in Comparative History of Ideas as well as Interdisciplinary Arts, because she just couldn't stay out of the art department. She has been teaching jewelry design since 1999 and loves what she does.
