Hi! My name is Diane Cook. I am a jewelry artist/designer/instructor who is currently teaching out of my home studio, in Katy, Texas, but have enjoyed teaching students throughout the United States since 2010. I have been featured in What Women Create, Belle Armoire Jewelry, Artful Blogging, Somerset Memories, Jewelry Affaire, and Marie magazines. I have also been asked to contribute to several books: Bead Soup by Lori Anderson, The Missing Link by Cindy Wimmer, and juried into a mixed media art competition book published by North Lights, called Incite, Dreams Realized: The Best of Mixed Media. In September of 2018, I was chosen as one of semi-finalists in the Fashion & Style category of the Texas Works Awards, a competition for Texas makers.
The look of my jewelry is one of tarnished vintage silver, and what I describe as ‘Texas Tarnished’. Sonora by Sunrise is part of my ‘Lifted’ series. ‘Lifted’ is a technique I have used to add a rich dimension to my jewelry since 2018.
